States also need to do their part, by making higher education a higher priority in their budgets. And colleges and universities have to do their part by working to keep costs down. Recently, I spoke with a group of college presidents who’ve done just that. Some schools re-design courses to help students finish more quickly. Some use better technology. The point is, it’s possible. So let me put colleges and universities on notice: If you can’t stop tuition from going up, the funding you get from taxpayers will go down.

When I graduate in May, i’ll have 70,000 dollars in debt in my name. Let’s hope there’s a way to make the next generation of students capable of affording higher education.
I think I’m going to graduate with about $20,000 in debt. It would have been A LOT more if it wasn’t for my dad paying $1,000 a month every year towards my tuition. The government needs to stop stepping in where it’s not necessary and finally do something about college costs. You reach a point where you’re like “I probably would have been better off if I didn’t go to college.”
